Kim Jones says the new video for The Afters’ “Lift Me Up” (from Light Up The Sky) should come with a warning label – “WARNING: Tissues needed.” The band pulled from stories that they’ve heard from fans about economic loss, self-image and loneliness after the loss of a loved one to create a video story that will resonate with anyone who has ever suffered.

In a press release, lead singer Josh Havens explained the band’s thoughts behind the video. “We wanted this video to reflect the realities of life. We all have stories and most of us have experienced pain and hardship at some point. While our stories might not be the same, the thing we all share in common is that when we face the things in life that are too much for us to handle on our own that God is with us, God is for us and God will never fail us. I hope that this video is an encouragement to people and a reminder of God’s faithfulness.”

The band hit the bulls-eye on all counts!
